BOISE, Idaho (Dec. 23) -- Each year, members of the 124th Fighter Wing take time from family and friends to visit residents of the Idaho State Veterans Home on Reserve Street near downtown Boise. More than two dozen veterans were sponsored by individuals and groups within the wing. Veterans make their wish lists for items they want and need: clothing, electronics, books, and more, and sponsors go shopping to make the veterans Christmas a little brighter.

This year, nearly 50 men and women from the Idaho Air and Army National Guard visited the home to deliver the presents and help the veterans open their gifts.

"It is the least we can do to show our veterans how much we appreciate their service and sacrifice," said Col. Brad Richy, vice wing commander.
