GOWEN FIELD, Boise, Idaho -- Wing members can nominate their bosses to take part in the 2009 Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Bosslift July 23-24. This year's Bosslift will support 170 employers and will be held at Gowen Field in Boise, Idaho.
The Bosslift is designed to educate employers on the many facets of military service in the Guard and Reserves. This event will give employers a better understanding of their employee's military role, mission, equipment, and the amount of dedication that it takes to hold down both a civilian and military job. Your BOSS will have a great time and get to see military professionals at work. Employers will walk away from this event with a renewed sense of patriotism and more regard than ever before for their Guard and Reserve employees who work within their organization.
Local Treasure Valley and surrounding employers will arrive on Gowen Field in their own transportation and return home at the end of the day. The far Eastern and Northern employers will fly in to Gowen Field on a C-130 military aircraft and stay overnight in Gowen Field Billeting. For the next day and a half employers will experience briefings, hands-on equipment displays, fly in an A-10 simulator, engage targets in a weapons simulator, maneuver vehicles in a military convoy trainer, and take a Blackhawk Helicopter ride. They will also attend a patriotic evening and dinner at the Gowen Field Activity Center.
Guardsmen are asked to complete the Bosslift nomination form and send it into ESGR director Russ Wright for consideration. Additional questions can be directed to Dick Deam at 272-3743.
