COLONEL DAVID T. "TRIM" TRIMBLE

Colonel David T. Trimble is the Maintenance Group Commander for the 124th Fighter Wing, Idaho Air National Guard, Boise, Idaho. The Maintenance Group consists of the 124th Maintenance Squadron, the 124th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and the 124th Maintenance Operations Flight. He is responsible for both on-equipment and off-equipment maintenance for a squadron of 21 A-10C Thunderbolt II aircraft. He directly supports the production of sorties generated to train the best A-10 pilots in the world.

Col. Trimble joined the Idaho Air National Guard in July 1986 receiving his commission through the Academy of Military Science in May 1987. Col. Trimble graduated from pilot training at Williams Air Force Base, Arizona, in June 1988. His first assignment was RF-4C pilot for the Idaho Air National Guard in May 1989. He became a full-time Guardsman in 1990, and was assigned to the 189th RTU as an RF-4C Instructor Pilot. In 1991 he converted to the F-4G "Wild Weasel" and was assigned to the 190th FS and then the 189th F-4G RTU as an Instructor Pilot. In May 1994 Col. Trimble graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University earning his Baccalaureate degree in Professional Aeronautics. He was one of the first pilots to convert to the A/OA-10 in April 1996 and held a variety of positions in the 190 FS to include Chief, Weapons and Tactics, Flight Commander, Chief, Standardization and Evaluation, Director of Operations, and in January 2005, took command of the 190th Fighter Squadron. In July 2010, after graduating from the US Army War College, he was appointed as the Deputy Commander, 124th Operations Group. In June 2012 he took command of the 124th Maintenance Group, his present position.
